Hi forum, I will have my registration with the GMC this year I hope. I am a GP and thinking of broadening my horizon. What is the best way to gain some experience in the UK ? Obviously I can not start taking OOH posts with a locum agency since the client that wants the OOH work to be done expects someone who does the job and does not need trainig from the scratch. I was thinking of working in a practice for some time whenever I can spare some time. Just to get used to the work that will be expected from me later on. Are there Locum agencies that offer work experience beforehand ?

Hi forum, my registration is on the way and I wanted to get my hands on the handbook. I sent 25 Euros to the mentioned bank account in Munich. Wrote a Mail to handbook@agms.net Money was sent on sept 17th, a "reminder" mail to handbook@agms.net on oct. 11th. Until today no answer - no reaction no handbook. Anybody got any idea what is the problem ? I am feeling a little strange about this now. What can I do ? CU Dr. Stefan Funk

Ich studiere zur Zeit im 3. klinischen Semester Medizin in Bonn und würde gerne im September 2009 zusammen mit einer Freundin eine Famulatur in Großbritannien machen, bevorzugt in oder in der Nähe von Edinburgh. Jetzt suchen wir Adressen von Krankenhäusern, in denen eine Famulatur möglich wäre. Es wäre toll, wenn jemand Vorschläge hätte. Auch sonst sind wir für Ratschläge dankbar.
