The Annual Scientific Conference
has been held in the UK and Germany evey year since 1959. Our aim is to
facilitate the exchange of knowledge and ideas. Apart from a scientific
programme there usually is a stimulating social programme.
Starting to work in a foreign medical system is challenging. The
society recognised this some years ago and was running induction
courses "Working in Britain"
for doctors who would like to work in the UK. The courses were held
2000 -2005 and have been a tremendous success. Due to the massive
changes in the British health system we decided not to hold these
courses at present.
English is the most important language in medicine at present. We therefore offered Medical English courses at the Charité Berlin in 2003 and 2004. We are currently thinking about ab Medical German course in Bristol.
