It is common practice in the UK to ring up the doctor holding your post at present. He / she will be able to describe in detail what to expect and can tell you about ups and downs. Don't hesitate bleeping them well before your interview. Ask them all the questions you might have. Most consultants encourage you to do so anyway because it is considered your "homework" when preparing for a new job or an interview.
